Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood

The hotel is 5mins walk from holyrood palace and the same really from the royal mile so well positioned. The staff were helpful,friendly and polite. Breakfast had a good selection and well stocked. The rooms were clean and towels changed on a daily basis. Two things to point out was that this hotel sits on the edge of the emissions zone,so if visiting in your own motor make sure your vehicle complies.The other was parking, we ended up parking on the dynamic earth's car park,which was in the basement, cost to park with 20% discount for Sun-Fri £92.

I really enjoyed my four days. Wonderful hotel the team was very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Great location easy to get to from the Station/airport. Good trams service along Princes Street. Plenty of buses South Bridge which is a short walk. Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the swimming pool. The lounge near the reception area is a little chilly but a nice spot to relax with a warm drink. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.

I stayed here in February and overall had a good experience. The room was nice, clean and very spacious. It was quite cold during my stay as the control panel was not working, and although I called reception three times the only solution was an extra blanket. The location is excellent right in the centre and perfect for exploring. Tiwari at the bar was fantastic, so friendly, helpful and welcoming. He really made the stay more enjoyable.

I do believe this was our first Marriott Hotel experience. Arrived early and was checked in so we could leave our cases. Polite and professional reception. The room was fine for our needs, large and spacious, comfortable bed and good size bathroom facilities. Fridge was on but did not cool or chill throughout our stay? Breakfast is substantive, plenty of ready hot items, cold meats and salads etc. Great coffee from the machine. It's possible to order extras that need fresh preparation, for no extra charge. A big thank you to Mike with his warm welcome and care for breakfast guests. All the staff were polite and helpful. We used the pool and sauna every day, great facilities and most enjoyable. Hotel was clean throughout. Right opposite Arthur's seat and next to the Parliament building and nearby Holyrood Palace. Easy 15 mins or so walk from tram stop at St Andrews to arrive at the Hotel. All local bars and restaurants within easy reach as are most sightseeing spots. Also has a Tesco express almost next door. So from our point of view it was a succesful visit.

Absolutely excellent experience!!! Delicious breakfast plenty of choice, good SPA service and brilliant atmosphere in the hotel . Nice and relaxed, clean big rooms and good WiFi too. Excellent location and good food choices around. I will definitely stay here again

We loved it. Everything was clean, guest services were noteworthy. Emma, at the bar, was helpful and energetic in the afternoon and again in the evening. Amma at front desk was personable and gave us restaurant recommendations. Katie gave a fantastic massage. Shasanne(?) at the spa reception, helped us book a massage yesterday, and was friendly and welcome the day of the massage. With staff like this, it was a pleasure to stay here.

Practically perfect. Rooms ready ahead of schedule. Breakfast was exceptional and loved chilling in the cosy bar in the evening. Great location too. One thing though, if you have any head, neck, shoulder or back injuries. The pillows are extremely THICK and can/do cause much discomfort. I have asked but there are no alternatives. The bed and quilt were super comfortable. Will stay again.

Joined the Holyrood Spa recently so I can access the gym, pool & sauna. The staff are so lovely and Beth has been great at showing me round the gym and helping me feel at ease. The gym equipment is good quality and easy to use and the pool is a decent size and heated. The changing facilities are of a high standard, have everything you need and are very clean too. Haven't stayed in the hotel as yet but I have dined in the restaurant and the quality of the food & beverages is great! Membership includes discounts for the restaurant and also spa treatments so definitely worth it!
